We love featuring Faith Piotrowski’s music on the Planet and wanted to dig a little deeper to help you get to know the lady behind the music! Big thanks to Faith for taking the time to answer all our questions 🙂
What got you started in music? And when did you start to pursue a career in music?Â
I started playing my mommas guitar and banging every piano I found as early as I can remember! I held my first concert with my best friend when we were 11 years old at a  coffee shop in Mobile, Alabama. We had a great turnout and I was addicted for life. Â
What are your musical goals?Â
This is THE question. I’d love to tour and open or collaborate with my favorite bands, play RedRocks, and tour Europe. The goal is truly to share my story, continue to grow, heal, and share the power of music with girls who are dealing with the same pain I have endured.Â
What inspired you to write “I Ran Away” song?Â
I can’t disclose all of my inspiration for this song (maybe one day), but there was a lot of abuse in my younger years. I fled Alabama as soon as I had the experience in nursing necessary to travel. I left in 2013 and started my healing journey. Many of the lines such as “I hid in mountains and the places they told me not to stay,” are very true to my life. I’m slowly and humbly forgiving and accepting the past, while looking excitedly towards the future and enjoying the moments in between.
When you’re not playing music, what are you doing?
I’m an Emergency Room nurse at St. Mary’s Medical center and also work in the surgical recovery room. Even if I “made it big” I’d still want to party in the ER with my team and save some lives.
How do you feel you’ve changed musically since your first song to the current music you’re working on?
Wow! So much has transformed. My first album is an incredible fusion of country, folk, and americana. I still love the songs and project, but felt I needed to find my most authentic self. My last single “Don’t Run Away” is by far my favorite. I didn’t think I could pull off a pop/rock song, but I am moving towards this genre.
What is your favorite aspect of being a musician?Â
I love how music dives deep into an aspect of our souls that no one can get to any other way. I adore playing live and connecting with people on that level. Bob Marley’s famous quote has always rang true for me “one good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”
Do you have a full band?
I no longer have a full band. I book gigs as an independent artist then call up some of my favorite humans/musicians in town and see who’s available to play with me, as well as judge how big a band we need for each venue.
