This holiday season, permits are available for cutting Christmas trees on Bureau of Land Management public lands in the greater Grand Junction area from Nov. 23 – Dec. 24.
Permits are for piñon pine or juniper trees and may be purchased for $10 per tree at the Grand Junction Field Office, 2815 H. Road, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and at the Glade Park Store, 16498 D S Road. Printed maps of cutting areas are also available at the BLM office.
The BLM recommends bringing along a handsaw, eye protection, rope or twine, extra food, water and blankets when you cut your tree. Tire chains, a shovel and emergency supplies are also a good idea.
The BLM accepts cash, check or credit card. For more information about Christmas tree cutting on BLM lands, call (970) 244-3000.
